I have a 2019 QX50 and have the same issue.. Usually was going under an overpass, once on the highway going over an overpass.. I brought it up to dealship and was told it could be a sensor issue but bc they were unable to see the issue for themselves when test driving the car, I was told there's nothing they could do.. 😐
Infiniti says "If you opt to release the accelerator pedal, the system automatically applies partial breaks to slow down the car. You have to take additional breaking action. In case you do not, the system will relay visual and audible warning signs. It will then apply harder breaking by itself. In case the Forward Emergency Breaking causes the vehicle to stop, it will maintain the standstill position for about 2 seconds before the system rereleases the breaks.
In case you are headed for an unavoidable collision, you can turn the steering wheel to its extreme end. This action will result in the automatic braking action ceasing. The automatic braking will, also, stop if you continue pressing the accelerator pedal, which overrides the system, or when the sensor does not detect any vehicle ahead of you."
