I recently had my windshield replaced on my QX50 by Safelite (never again) and what a saga that was. If you have the heads up display (HUD), trust me, it will only work properly with OEM glass. Safelites aftermarket glass supplier is Fuyao and their glass is crap. They tried three times and the HUD was still displaying improperly so finally after three months, they ordered OEM glass and it’s finally working properly.

BTW it costs over $2200 at Safelite to replace the windshield with OEM glass. Might as well go to the stealership for ease of mind at that price.

Good to know. They replaced my 335i glass several years back and was fine. No hud on my QX50 but didn't realize grades of windshield glass existed. Makes sense.
