Hi QX team...I am happy to be in this forum for me making my first purchase. I've always been a major fan of the QX50s, they look nice, and I found an affordable one with low miles here in my location. I've been looking at some cars and reading about them but before I made a large decision I wanted to check with you all if there is anything that I should look into:

Some things that I will be looking out for during my inspection today:

  • noises in the engine
  • check transmission for slips jolts etc
  • verify all electrics / features / lights,
  • coolant or oil leaks
They are asking for the price of $15,950 and it has 39,000 miles with a Salvage Title.

If you guys have any suggestions on what to look at.
thanks

Thanks for the info and tips. I really appreciate your post. Luckily, from the photo you shared, the car didn't look like that from the report I bought...So, I got the report using the license plate number(from the photos) on this site that my friend recommended to try out and I was lucky to get a free credit to pull the history just for downloading their new mobile app for scanning and decoding VIN. I'll add a photo of the app below. It's pretty cool. Please have a look at the report, I'll share the link for the site: VIN CHECK and the report here:Get Instant Vehicle History Report

at the Auction and now it is roughly $16,000 asking price. I really like the low miles on the car, only 39,000.

What do you guys think? Kind of a strange accident with the doors huh? I think it is pretty minor, no? It looks like in really good shape though overall. If you approve, I am highly considering to buy this vehicle before someone else does. Thanks!

" Salvage Title " Means it could have looked like this . . . .

Wheel Car Tire Land vehicle Vehicle

But, if that 2017 with 39K on odo at $15,950 Drives Good, Looks Good, and Passes your Acceptance . . .

Why NOT ? - seems like it is $9,000 less than a clean Car Fax unit would resale for . . . .

The 3.7 is loud, and gets louder when pushed to perform ~ that's a normal byproduct of a Naturally Aspirated 325 HP V6 doing its thing

The 7 speed Automatic is smooth, and always seems to be in the right gear at the right time. With Downshift Rev Matching, Sport Mode for longer shifts, and manual maneuverability, it is a Decent Transmission

Do your best to get the " real story " on why it is a Salvage Title - Research the VIN#

Good Luck on your inspection, hopefully this unit was reassembled right and is trouble free.

Best I can tell from the photos, the Frame looks to have been spared from any impact . . .

Is that blood on lower door sill ?

Were the " jaws of life " used on the B pillar to pry the doors off ?

This QX50 was assembled in Japan, with exact fit and finishes . . .

If the Body Shop was able to line up those doors like they were from the factory . . .

Then, I would think that despite the stigma of a " Salvaged Title ", that this unit still has plenty of life in it for next owner.

Google the cost of 2 Doors, and Labor to replace, I bet it is well under the $10,000 that the car is marked up from the Salvage price . . .

I bought mine off lease with similar miles in early 2020 for 23k from Infiniti. Anyone you trust to put it on a lift inspect frame, axles...? They did a great job fixing it up. Its a great vehicle, i just spent a week in a 2022 and its nowhere as fun to drive as the '17. Good luck!
