If you needed any more assurances that we'll have a new QX50 to look at shortly just check out some of the QX50s sales data. For one volume has imploded to a point that Canadian sales are actually outstripping American sales which is typically unheard of.

In February 2013 Infiniti sold 150 QX50s in America. In the same month Infiniti sold 149 QX50s in Canada.

One month later in March US sales were 146 units while in Canada 188 were moved. Check out the full numbers from 2013...

They better do something quickly as QX50 lost half its volume in one year. A new model should not be too far down the line, I mean the QX50 always has been a high riding hatched version of the G37. Now with Q50 fresh on the market all QX50 needs is a fresh skin, the updated FM platform and technology is all easily transferable.

It's a great car in concept, it just needs to be updated to continue to compete in a very competitive segment. This segment is probably one of the most competitive around. Infiniti can't expect to continue to do well without updating the QX50 really soon.

Does that mean there are plenty of incentives right now if you wanted to buy a QX50?

It's too late for that, im sure they have all 2013 models sold, with 2013 models you had the chance to get incentitives.

makes me think they've incentivized 2013 stock to clear the lots in anticipation of a new QX50?

or maybe QX50 is killed, its going to be caught in a wierd spot between QX70 and Q30

well november sales are the best for the year
i think december will be strong too.
yea but those are on the back of heavily incentivized offers. Its basically liquidation of all this years inventory. I never put much stock in november and december numbers.

The decrease in sales over years is natural in the auto industry

Its the reason why manufacturers need to keep updating cars. Because they become outdated...

This is true but they can only do so much from year to year. Sometimes they even have to hold off on offering specific things to save for later years so it always seems good every step of the way

agreed, but losing 90% of your sales volume is not exactly natural. Its only going to get harder for infiniti. They thought they had it bad with just the x1, now they're going to have to deal with downmarket pressure from GLA, pressure from its stable mate Q30 not to mention the little Q3 audi is cooking up plus Lexus has the NX crossover coming out...

QX50 should be at the top of their list...

I don't think they will kill the QX50. This segment is just growing. CUVs, especially one that is performance focused. Just look at the plethora of BMW, and Mercedes CUVs that are out and are coming out.

and canibalizing each other. X3 and X1 are right on top of each other. GLA and GLK are also one on top of another. With Q30 or QX30 coming into the segment its going to obliterate already low sales numbers for QX50..
