I have been watching the forum for posts from new owners of the 2019 QX50 and it would be great to hear from others about likes, dislikes, concerns, etc. We are strongly considering the QX50 while waiting to take a good look at the new 2019 Acura RDX before making a final decision.

Hey Charlie, do you made your decision?? New QX50 or RDX??

New QX50 are a bit rare here.
Well, after months of agonizing I ended up going back to BMW and ordered a 2019 X3 to replace my existing X3. I couldn't get past the new engine and the CVT on the QX50, though I otherwise really like the car. I also really liked the new RDX until I spent an hour with the new touchpad interface. After an hour I decided I would never learn to live happily with it and just gave up and went back to BMW.
I never even took a test drive in the QX50. i was just to uncomfortable with the uncertainty of the new engine to pursue Infiniti, even though i really like a lot about it just sitting in it in the lot. If I had had the time to wait a year and find out how the engine was working out for owners it would have been different, but I needed to move more quickly.
Oh ok, no testdrive.

But there is no risk I think because of the waranty.
I actually drove the new X3. What a boring POS. I drove it on the same day with a new Q5, new QX50, new Merc GLC, new NX. The NX is dull but at least looks OK - no guts in the engine and the infotainment system is truly dangerous IMO. But better than the X3. the Q5 handles pretty well and acceleration is decent once you get past 0-20, which is anemic - better than X3. The GLC is boring as ****, but that's what they were going for - seemed better built than X3.

I got out of the X3 and could not believe they want anyone to accept that this is an "ultimate driving machine." It was boring, slow, sloppy handling, crappy infotainment system. The whole thing blew my mind. And I like some BMW's.

Oh, and so far the QX50 engine has been flawless. The only problem we've had with a QX50 was a blown shock that took a few weeks to replace because part was backordered. But either way - just lease the car so if there are engine problems or other reliability issues down the road - you don't own those problems and the attendant depreciation (see Q50 or almost every other late model sedan current resale prices).

I'm sorry, but when you post criticism of a car you've never driven, you really call your opinions into question. I'm not saying people shouldn't be a little skeptical of a completely new engine and tech, but there are ways to mitigate any risk.

100% agree.

But where are all the new QX50 Members??
I bought my new 2019 QX50 about a month ago and love everything about it except the AC. The air conditioner cannot keep up in the heat or even when it cools down. Dealer says its working as designed of course. The new engine has been fun to drive and it gets great gas mileage.
First off, this is a great post!!!

I have a confession, the cars you mentioned in your post are the exact cars I was considering, however I only drove the QX50 and fell in love with it. I had philosophical reasons about why I didn't even test drive the X3 (simply put, i needed a beautiful car, call me shallow, but the X3's looks compared to the price tag, weren't on par for me; and i wanted more vanity :0 ). As for the RDX, can you yawn loud enough? Seriously, I've owned Acuras, Hondas and Toyotas my entire life and Honda/Acura simply do not innovate enough. Their new design is nice, but it feels like the same 'ol same 'ol all over again for me and the suspension and the handling.. i needed a break.

I wanted to test drive the GLC, but reviews were shaky and frankly, if I'm getting a Benz, it's going to be something that starts with AMG, and right now I don't have that kind of $ flow.

I feel the QX50 is one of the hottest cars on the block right now pound for pound or dollar for dollar! It will blow up- I've had few friends look at it and they were impressed as ****.

Looking forward to a fun journey with this one.

Disclaimer: I do not work for Infiniti, just excited that I believe I made the right decision and kinda pumping myself up a bit :p
