There is a large and heavy metal bar in my glove box. I searched in the owner's manual for wrench but it refers to a TORX wrench for the roof bars. This is not it. It has a ring on the top and screw threads on the bottom. Can someone let me know what this is for? I can't find any reference to it in the manuals. Thank you.

I was at the service center today and they told me it is a tow hook that is needed when the car is being towed. I guess it is staying in my glove box (or at least the trunk somewhere.

For some reason Infiniti has put two of them in many QX50's. Just toss it. There's another one in the trunk. You only need one. They're never going to tow your car from both ends at the same time. I've started a collection of them at our dealership.

Thanks for the information. I found the one in the trunk so I am taking out the one in the glove box (I can use all the storage I can get). Maybe I will use this as a necklace 🙂

Careful, I had a Mercedes that had two tow hooks because the front and back used different sized hooks! Double check they are the same before tossing one out!
