Hi all,

I got my QX50 end of 2018 and it's been great since then, minor issues here and there including ( freezing infotainment, unexpected braking due to sensors malfunction, seat belt warnings even though nothing was on the passenger seat ) but yesterday something new happened, the tailgate fel off on my head, both cylinders kind of broke apart and I had to unscrew them so I can close the tailgate. Anyone had an issue like this, the car is on lease and I have less than 50k km on It and had it for less than 3 years, is this something covered by warranty ?

2019 QX 50 bought in 09/2018, have had left rear cylinder replaced due to non-operations in approximately June 2021 and in August 2022 have had to have the right rear cylinder replaced. When exploring why the unit quit working noticed a lot of rust on the cylinder arm in both instances which surely causes the closing issues. Returned to Infiniti and have been taken care of (thank goodness) under warranty but a little worried that issue will persist with moister getting into cylinder arms causing rust and continued replacement. Surely Infiniti engineers have a better solution or preventative procedure ! If anyone knows of fix, please advise ! Thanks
