thats true but I still see some younger guys in these, it's pretty much the smaller Infiniti FX. It's like how some people buy a G sedan over M.
might just be a matter of time till we see performance CUV's go mainstream
I would have to agree with justspace it is already a hard market for these types of vehicle making it an ipl would just complicate things and make them suffer from costs.
I hope they realized how badly the introduction of their IPL really bombed. I guess they are in behind closed doors working on something to regain the fan base for the performance models coming in at a later date.
the F sport packages I felt were just a trim and were not really carrying any real performance gains. Hopefully something can change with the IPL models so it would be worth it to look in to buying.
the introduction of IPL's wasn't too bad
it would have been better if they did what lexus did, just right away they introduced a real performance model-the first time "F" was used- the Lexus IS-F
People will buy it simply for the image of having a higher trim level. Is there going to be another higher trim level that offers more performance though? I haven't heard anything...
starting smaller and fine tuning everything then improving performance and adding things to make a car faster and better is the better way to go about things. do it the other way around and it will back fire big time
Now that is something to look forward to if your in to the whole hybrid thing. I still question if the horsepower values will actually end up being around 400hp.
Interesting idea here, Mercedes and Infiniti already share a partnership with the MFA platform. MB also signed an engine deal with Nissan to have them building engines in Tennessee for future Mercedes products. Maybe Infiniti can finagle some AMG 4 cyls from Mercedes that pumps out 355 horses...
C'mon how sweet.
Oh and to the OP. the FX became the QX70, EX became the QX50. Doesn't the FX have an IPL, or was it just the Vettel edition?
I doubt it too
as much of a role they have with the platform sharing i doubt they'll go as far as making Infiniti's cars even better.
plus with Infiniti stepping up it's performance they might as well do something 100% them that will amaze people.
I don't think the EX/QX50 is the right car to have an IPL quite honestly. I don't think it's that kind of vehicle and it seems a little counter-intuitive to me.
However, a basic sport package seems much more simple to do.
