I have been seeing videos of the Around View monitor which shows you a 360 degree view of what's surrounding your car. Has anyone actually used this or seen it in action. It looks amazing, but I always trust customer's reviews more than videos and company propaganda.

Do you know if there are companies other than Infiniti that use this technology as well?

Is the 360 view seen on the LCD monitor?

If that is the one i heard that it uses a image converter to make it around view similar to BMW's bird eye view.

I believe Lexus and BMW also have this feature, I could be wrong, but since Lexus was one of the first to come out with self-parking tech and everything else related to it, it's very possible.

This technology gives you a 360 degree view of the area around the car to help you park or reverse. I am not sure how they get the image turned into the 360 view. That is the cool part to me. It solves that pesky problem of not being able to see your blind spots while trying to fit into a tight space. I'll definitely order it on my QX50.

A very useful feature from Infiniti. Makes backing up easier even for the expert. It's always good to know exactly what is around the car.

Sometimes I think the parking and driving assist technologies are not really worth it because I can just do it my self anyways, but this looks really helpful. The 360 degree view plus the parking guides would make parking a whole lot more simple. I am guessing that it is an option you have to pay extra for and it doesn't come standard. I would shell out for it though. Are you guys going to pay the extra dough for it?

Even if you are capable of parking by yourself (which you should be)

These features help ALOT and add to the safety of the car. The rear is that people rely on them soley and stop using their natural skills of driving that were needed prior to the technology.

yeah it really is just incremental steps up to the car that can drive it's self without the human element.

Wow, I didn't realize that they had technology that would not only so the parking for you, but also find the parking spot. And the car even comes out of the parking spot to meet you somewhere! This is the closest thing I have seen to self-driving cars that is actually on the road today.

If this is possible now, it really must be a short while till there is completely autonomous cars.

Looks like Audi is a bit ahead of the game as far as parking technology goes. Does Infiniti have anything like this yet, and is anyone aware of what models this feature comes on in the Audi line-up?

nope. I think for an entry level car the EX35 / QX50 does perfectly fine with the around view. Really helps alot with parking

Does the QX50 actually park itself though?

I think that many people would rather have this camera to help them park, than give up the need to park at all. I can see this camera being extremely useful.

that tech is really helpful
to those that actually want to improve their driving, this will act as a tech that can train them to eventually be a pro at parking, some people will just get lazy and let the system do all it can.

most backup cameras totally suck. I also really like the Infiniti guide lines for the camera too. They are pretty accurate.

they don't actually have some camera up in the sky that looks down, it isn't grand theft auto, but it's just their way to show the vehicle on the screen. sensors on the bumpers are the only external thing tied to the system

I LOVE this feature!! I've had my QX50 for 5 weeks now and this is by far One of my favorite features of all!! The blind spot monitoring is right up there too! Love the safety aspect of it as well as the ability to help me park perfectly every time now because of the view. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! It's going to be one of those features that I won't want to be without in the future!

it's definitely a must have especially with how visibility is and how the proportions on SUV's are, always good to have another set of eyes.
