Just drove my new QX50 home! Question.... Is there a way to make the lower screen default to audio when the car is turned on? Instead of Home?

Thank you for the reply. That's very disappointing. Hopefully that's a fix down the road? Any status on adding Apple Car Play?

I seriously doubt they will change this. Its been that way since InTouch debuted in 2013.

CarPlay? Oh, I've only been screaming at Infiniti for four years about that one. But we salespeople don't know as much about what customers want as product planners and engineers. So they're only now waking up to the fact that customers will now walk out of the showroom the minute we attempt to explain why they're better off without Carplay. My guess is we'll get our butts kicked over this one until at least 2020 model year, maybe 2021. The good news is QX50 will be the first to get CarPlay, from what I've heard. And there's a very slim chance they'll make it installable into past years' QX50's (read 2019's).

I've been pretty good at explaining why CarPlay and Android Auto aren't really what you want them to be - up until now. But now that both CP and AA can run Waze, the last of my real reasons has been overcome. The only knock on CP now is that you have to wire in your phone every time you get in the car - but I bet that one goes away too, as soon as Apple removes the charging port from the next iPhone. Nope, I'm not bitter at Infiniti about this at all.

I appreciate that honest on CarPlay. I'm hoping that's a software add to the 2019... fingers crossed!

Nobody would need CarPlay if the infotainment would runf like a tablet or so but Iiii also did not add such a system.


But for me, it would not the main reason not to buy a car. This is crazy imho. You have to drive the car not to play arround in it.

But the new RDX for example also has no CarPlay, only AndroidAuto and nomody cry´s about.

If Infiniti is late for carplay or android auto and is not going to be available soo, I hope it could reduce the price for intouch premier. Navigation send to car or google send send to car costs $30 a month.... it’s expensive, especially all other brands have carplay lol
