Apple car play for 2019 QX50?

Does anyone know if the 2019 QX50 get an update for Apple car play? I saw that Infiniti released ACP for the 2020 model. When I bought my QX50, the sales guy said infinit is releasing an update once the new models come out but not sure how reliable it is

If they do release an update for ACP and AA, that would be pretty awesome of them.. But I wouldn't count on it. Infiniti is releasing an update..... for the 2020 model maybe..
Actually I just called my dealership and they said they are releasing an update for the 2019 model as well this December.

Ma, I hope this is true. I'm skeptical though.

A couple of things I learned in this video which makes me even more skeptical that there will be an update for MY19.

1. The MY20 has a USB-C port to which they connect to utilize Apple Car. MY19 does not have USB-C.
2. It appears it does not work through Bluetooth (or else they would've mentioned it). BTW, BMW enabled Apple Car via Bluetooth, so it is possible.

No Retrofit of 2020 System to 2019

I was at my Infiniti service dealer yesterday for normal maintenance. While killing time, I looked at the 2020 model sitting there....the only differences I saw was with the entertainment system, with a nice HD display and Android Auto / Apple car play. I asked if that system could be retrofitted to the 2019 models...the display and / or software. I was told that neither would could be retrofitted.

While the new HD display was very nice, I should note that I have also driven other cars with the Android system. I have to say I'm not very impressed. Yes, it handles texts better than the system in my 2019 model, and I guess it can use Waze, although I didn't try it. Nothing else was of interest to me and it was awkward to get into and out of every time I got in the car.

Sad to hear. Although I wouldn’t count on a salesperson or service tech to know what Infiniti has planned on for the future. I just spoke to my salesman and he said they had no clue Apple CarPlay would be in Infiniti vehicles until they arrived.
I have confirmed from Infiniti that there is no plan to upgrade existing vehicles with Apple Car Play. They are adding it to new vehicles only.
