In less than a week our brakes went from seemingly fine to needing front and rear brake pads and new front rotors. Grinding sound literally happened overnight. Quote $900

In same week we had back smoke suddenly come from the exhaust and received a quote for $4000 to replace the turbo.

Car has 92,000 miles mostly highway.
Car appeared perfect a week ago.

Anyone will similar situation that needed a turbo replaced? Cost for repairs?

I have a 2019 QX50 with about 45k miles now. My old FX35 had its original rotors all the way to 200k miles. All LA driving too. I believe they were resurfaced over 6 separate times. I also drove the pads down to 0% with grinding the last three times they were resurfaced before they told me they were too thin and I needed new rotors. I wonder if the QX50 rotors are thinner now. I’m surprised you had to replace them unless you gouged it really deep.

Although I’m sorry it happened, it’s also great for us to know you had a turbo failure at ~92k mi. I was wondering how reliable their turbos are. I certainly would expect them to make it well over the 100k mark. $4000 is quite a hefty repair bill. I pray my turbo holds on for dear life 😅
