2017 QX50 Non-Nav Questions

I recently purchased a 2017 QX50 without NAV and figured I'd just use my phone for navigation, but have found I don't care for that solution and am looking for other alternatives.

Is it possible to stream music via Bluetooth on the non-NAV models? I was able to get my phone paired for phone calls, but haven't played around with it enough to find the option to listen to music via BT.

Is it possible to purchase a used OEM navigation unit, used OEM under screen NAV buttons, a used OEM touch screen from eBay and then swap out my non-Nav components with these NAV components and get NAV? My concern is there are other components that may need to be purchased for full NAV functionality. I've pulled up pictures of both units and the connectors look similar, but are the pinouts different? Any VIN/PIN lockouts with these units?

I'm also open to aftermarket options, I've seen the big Android tablet style units online, but would like things to look as factory as possible. I drive around a lot for work, park in all kinds of neighborhoods and would rather not have something in the dash that catches eyes and begs to be stolen.

Thanks all!

Hopefully this reply can offer some assistance as I'm in the same situation as you. I have a 2016 QX50 without NAV. I have found out online that swapping out NAV parts on non-NAV models is not as simple as it sounds, at least for me personally. I use a Bluetooth receiver that transmits my phones audio over FM radio which works surprisingly well in my QX50, not much audio quality is lost. There is also a usb port in the armrest that you can use to play music as well if you're ok with having your phone plugged in all the time.

In reference to aftermarket options, I have my eye on NiftyCity because they offer an aftermarket replacement but its made to look OEM. There's also a video on YouTube showing it installed in our model QX50 as well.

Can you send a link to NiftyCity?

My only concern is how Android Auto/CarPlay would work without the touch screen since our Non-NAV models do not have a touch screen.

Yeah that's my concern too. There are many types they have to offer, if you customize your package it looks like you can order one for vehicles without a touch screen. I can't say for sure because I have not purchased one of these for myself yet. I would love to hear if anyone on this form has successfully installed one of these though.

I think I'm going to do this: EX35 / EX37 / QX50 Navigation Harness Adapter Kit: Upgrade 2008-17 SUVs | OWC Upgrades
Depending on how much you can find the parts on eBay/from a junkyard, this, all in, would be ~$750 and be the clean, factory nav install that I'm looking for.
