Quick Look: 2014 Infiniti QX50 | Autonet.ca

The luxury crossover that used to be known as EX37 is all new for 2014 and features more equipment but a lower price

To go along with its new name, the Infiniti QX50 crossover (formerly called EX37) also gets a new price for 2014 - a reduction of $5,900 compared to last year’s models.
And not only that, Infiniti Canada says the new vehicles feature more standard equipment.
Prices start at $37,900 for the QX50 Journey and climb to $47,500 for Journey Premium with navigation and technology packages. Even the base model now is equipped with Bluetooth, power moonroof, auto-dimming inside mirror, maple interior accents and power tilt and telescopic steering.

This interests me far less than an actual redesign of the QX50. I want to see the QX50 with a bunch of updates including the design. Infiniti is far more modern than its QX50 represents.
same here but while they work on that they still need to make the out going QX50 interesting enough, usually the last production years are where a specific car shines, it's what they're trying to do.

It makes me feel better to think of this move as preparation for the next QX50 model. Without that context, this would be a more troubling move.

You think that this is when the car shines? It seems to me that the car is lack luster and that is why they are making it cheaper -- to make is shinier.

I think it's a combination of making it shinier and making it the best it can be in it's outgoing years. they might be losing out here by cutting the price so much but will make it up elsewhere. At least this way it leaves a good impression on everyone, making them even more excited for next gen
