2016 QX59 HID to LED?

I have a 2016 QX50. It has Halogen headlights(HID), yet the Driving lights and Daytime running lights are LED. Has anyone upgraded their HID to LED? The dealership said it would cost about $1500 each, because they change the entire Headlight assembly. With the “plug-n-play” LED bulb only (not requiring a separate conversion module), has anyone replaces the HID with LED successfully? No problems with the ECU, etc. showing some error codes? OR even replaced with a conversion module? Thanks in advance!

HID is typically High Intensity Discharge in automobile lighting. If requires separate specialized wiring to support its operation. A true HID system will provide better lighting than a LED system. Putting anything other that a HID bulb in that socket would fry it.

LED is typically better than Halogen. There are many variables that include brightness (limited by law) and color temperature which is more of an operator preference.
